Every morning before we leave for daycare, Elmo has to put his shoes on so he can ride with us. Rosalyn always helps Elmo put his shoes on and instructs him on proper skills for dressing oneself. Now she even likes to "rush" him the way I apparently do to her when she is lally-gagging and we're running late. Oh the cuteness and the frustration!

Counting
Rosalyn uses the abbicus that Uncle Clint gave her to practice counting. It's a good thing she's not doing our taxes because she is doing some funny math.

Dress up
Dress up time is not my strongest suit as a mother. It's just not my thing, but I'm learning. After getting this tutu thing to wear to the fairy princess birthday last weekend, Rosalyn demanded to wear it to daycare one day this week. I spent ~20 minutes trying to talk her out of it and assumed daycare would be annoyed by it (they politely requested that I not let her wear the squeaky shoes to daycare anymore when she tried that a few months ago). However, when we arrived, I noticed that several other girls had tutus or other frilly things that when with their outfits, and I realized it was quite ordinary. Never again will I be late because I'm trying to talk my child out of wearing a ridiculous outfit - well, at least not until she's a teenager! Frilly princess skirts, here we come!

Silly friends
We joined friends for dinner the other night, and the kids immediately head off to play. I peeked in on the playing a little later, and this is what I found. Rosalyn and Ethan each playing quietly while Sophia was already asleep in her bed.
Before we left, Rosalyn ad Ethan pretended to be poached eggs and wriggled around on the floor. Who needs dinner and a movie when you have kids to entertain you!

Elmo is healthy
Rosalyn has starting listening to the hearts of her stuffed animal friends. Luckily Elmo is doing well - wonder how cookie monster's heart will fare...?

Park time
While Corey and I took our bi-plane ride, Rosalyn played at the park at the airport with Aunt Megan and watched us take off.
Luckily, Aunt Megan is a better planner than Mom (me) and remembered to bring snacks.
Then some friends brought their boys to the park for playtime. Isaac, exactly one year older than Roz made her a valentine card. Then he pushed her on the swing once we came back to our house. So sweet!

Bi-plane ride
Corey and I went on a biplane ride yesterday from the airport near our house to Stone Mountain and back. Here is the plane.
It was pretty close quarters.
Corey looked at home in his aviator classes.
The pedals we were told not to touch. The pilot was sitting behind us, controlling everything from his seat, but we could see things moving as he maneuvered the plane.

Stone Mountain and the field where the laser show takes place, currently covered with fake snow for winter activities.

Fairy princess Rosi
Our friend Sophia had her 4th birthday party this weekend, and the theme was fairy wonderland. Rosalyn wasn't interested in wearing her frilly pink skirt until we got there and she saw the other girls dressed up. She had lots of fun chasing after the big kids, and they included her very well. Then we came home and had our own wonderland, playing in the backyard and doing yard work in beautiful weather!

Reading to papa
My dad stopped by tonight on his way from Greenville to Macon. He and Rosalyn played in her barn, she gave him a birthday cake (his birthday is in September), and she "read" (recited) some books to him. I think she could compete in this area, but I'm not sure where this kind of skill would be useful except for beauty pageants, and we are sooo not going there.
Here are some of the recitations, and the books are listed below in case you cant tell what they are.
Butterfly kisses
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Thomas the Train
Icky Sticky Frog
Colorful
Rosalyn has such a colorful personality, so she chose her clothes to match her personality today.
Even following after my mother's footsteps and doing some heavy garden work in her dress.

Saturday
So far, we've had a lovely, low key Saturday. This morning we went to the county mulch place to get for the new fruit trees we've just planted. She had fun watching us shovel the mulch into bins and directing traffic. It's still a little cold and overcast, but compared to several days of cold and dreary rainy days, we're grateful for some sun! Rosalyn also had a visit from Aunt Megan this afternoon, and they enjoyed reading books, playing with Taffy and watching me make a mess in the kitchen (trying to make kim-chee for the first time).

Kitchen path
Tonight Rosalyn used most of her kitchen utensils to create a nice path leading from "her kitchen" to the fridge. She set up a stool in front of her kitchen (a recent trick) so she could reach the dishes up on the shelf of her kitchen. Then she carefully laid out every piece into a winding path.
