Carsen got nice and cozy today before settling in for a nap. She loves her special blanket from Ms. BJ. :)

Growing up
It's official - Rosalyn is growing up. As a family we decided today that Rosalyn is grown up enough for an allowance and chores. She is excited about this new adventure, so she and Corey made a list of her weekly chores. She kept wanting to add more responsibilities, but Corey and I suggested we stop here and see how it goes. I suggested 4 dollars per week of allowance since she's 4 (she'll be taught to save some, gift some to a cause of her choosing, and can spend the rest). She seems ready to accept Corey's suggestion of 4 quarters per week instead of 4 dollars, so we already have some work to do. I think she just likes coins better because they are fun to put in her piggy bank and that's all she's really had the opportunity to play with yet, but she'll learn. :)

Apple pie
One of Rosalyn's recent favorite books is Amelia Bedilia's apple pie, in which a young Amelia Bedilia bakes her first apple pie with her grandma... So we acted out the story tonight with Iffy, complete with the Amelia Bedilia apple pie recipe.
Goosey goosey
Rosalyn loves feeding the ducks and geese when we come to Macon. We picked up some cracked corn at the Tractor Supply store, and they love it.

Carsen settles in for a long winters nap during tummy time while Rosalyn learns to make pigs in a blanket.

Recently
Here are a few recent photos. Carsen was grasping the cord and wailing during her first breathing treatment at the doctor's office, then she wore herself out and fell asleep with the mask cord still in a death grip.
Rosalyn was thrilled by a visit from her favorite Waumba teachers - Mr. Frank and Mrs. Alicia. They came to visit her on Sunday but she fell asleep right before they came, so they returned on Monday. And she was excited to play games on Mr. Frank's iPad.
And that hair after a few days in the hospital and not getting washed or brushed. I suggested heading straight for a hair cut on the way home from the hospital, but Rosalyn and Corey braved the combing out process.

More garden and books
We took a second trip to the garden this evening, with Elmo too. Rosalyn wore her pink head scarf again. Corey helped her make some tracks in the grass with her wagon, then she walked on a little wall and helped Iffy and Daddy do the same.
We've read lots of books, including a new Amelia Bedilia book from Aunt Sassy, and some old books of mine that my mom found recently and brought with her, including another Amelia Bedilia story of course.
Rosalyn had her first (much needed) bath in 4 days!
Iffy also read a book to Carsen while Rosalyn napped. She brought "The Diggingest Dog" in honor of you-know-who.
She's still off oxygen and doing well, so we're optimistic we can go home tomorrow! :)

Garden time
Rosalyn has been off oxygen and doing well, so she got to take a ride outside to the garden, along with Elmo. She wore her bedknobs and broomsticks scarf.
They want to monitor her overnight to ensure she stays well, but she's doing so much better! Was hooping we'd come home today, but maybe tomorrow.

Bedknobs and broomsticks
Rosalyn has enjoyed watching bed knobs and broomsticks several times now. Iffy bought her a scarf from the gift shop so she can have a scarf over head like ms. Price (Angela Lansbury) wears in the movie. They tried it out on Elmo, then realized that it also makes a good swaddling blanket for baby elmo. :)

Less coughing, more silly
Rosalyn's cough seems to be gone. The oxygen is still on but at a very very low level. We're still in ICU because we've been waiting on a regular room but should be able to move within an hour.
She's feeling well, watching movies, eating pumpkin bread, wanting her nail polish touched up, etc. I took a few photos of Carsen on my phone before going in to see Rosalyn, and she snuggled my phone and kept saying "sweet baby". We can't wait to bring her home, hopefully tomorrow!
After being around families who've just lost kids or their lives are uncertain, we are so grateful that it was only as bad as it was and that we have so much support.
