Halloween

We had a really fun Halloween!  Especially compared to last year when we spent Halloween getting checked into ICU for Rosalyn's asthma.
Rosalyn has been really into Pippi and dressed as Pippi this year.  We never got around to putting wires in her wig to make the pigtails stick out, but otherwise I thought the costume turned out great.  However, most people we saw around the neighborhood thought that she was Raggedy Ann or Wendy.  I've decided that the world needs a reawakening of Pippi awesomeness!
Carsen was also quite adorable in her monster costume, and she was a good sport hanging out while Rosalyn visited so many houses.
Aunt Megan joined us for trick r treating, and we made a nice loop around the neighborhood.  My friend with a balloon and floral business had light up balloons which was really fun.  Rosalyn didn't like some of the decorations we saw, so she didn't want to go to some of those houses, but otherwise she did a great job going up to houses more and more independently!

Now I'm falling asleep while typing, go Happy Halloween and goodnight!

Revisiting the birthday celebration!

Here are more birthday photos, thanks to our friends!

Stair climber

Carsen had a lot of fun and wore us out climbing the stairs at Iffy and Papas house. It's amazing how able and eager she was compared to last time we were there!

Dramatic bible verse recitation

This is the bible verse for October in Waumba Land (preschool classes) at church.
We're saving this one in case Rosalyn ever decides to try out for a play or drama team.
The verse is actually Deuteronomy 31:6, but close enough. ;)

Pumpkin patch

Here are the first few photos from our visit to a pumpkin patch yesterday.  It was 87 degrees and extremely bright and sunny, so those cute seasonal matching long sleeve shirts didn't last long.

Yogurt celebration

Carsen enjoys her yogurt as much as Rosalyn.  I've given her a few bites off my spoon before, and she shrieks for more.  We went the day after her party, and she enjoyed having her own and feeding herself.

That spoon isn't quite efficient enough...

Better to eat straight from the little cup...

That's better...

A little extra from Iffy...

But I can do it all by myself, please...

Now this is really the way to do it!

Cake time for Carsen

We celebrated Carsen's birthday with friends and family last Saturday at Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve.  There are several other photos that still need to be downloaded from my camera and other people's cameras, but here are a few.
Carsen enjoyed being outside, and the weather was really nice.  Carsen loved playing with this plant that was growing out of the rock at Arabia

We celebrated with her friend Cece whose birthday was that day.

We enjoyed making a mess with the cupcakes.

And we enjoyed making a mess with watermelon.

And big sister had lots of fun celebrating ad exploring too!

Swing-time

Rosalyn is very proud of how well (fast and high) she can swing all by herself now.  She struggled with it for a while and always wanted someone to push her.  We even had several meltdowns when she wanted me to keep pushing her, but I told her that I would help her get started then she needed to do it herself so she would get stronger and better.
Now she's happily swinging very high without assistance, and you can tell she enjoys the wind in her hair even more because she's doing it all by herself!
And I like that we can refer to this as an example when she bellyaches about something being "too hard"!
