Joy in our world
When I picked the girls up from daycare yesterday, everyone in Rosalyn's class had made a guitar out of a Kleenex box and rubber bands. She was so proud of it, and even though it was cold, she wanted to sit on the front porch and play her guitar. I didn't get a photo of that because I was getting dinner ready, but she decided to sing and play Joy to the World this morning before daycare. Carsen enjoys watching her big sister and "harmonizing" a bit. :)
And Rosalyn's outfit choices lately seem kind of appropriate for a folk singer.
I have a video of them singing, but having trouble getting it to post... Will keep trying.
Farmers market fan
Rosalyn wanted to model the new bags for the farmers market, and she was so excited that the market opens this weekend that she wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a good photo.

Silly little leprechauns 3
Rosalyn carefully scoured the yard Monday afternoon in pursuit of leprechauns that may be hiding there.
Silly little leprechauns 2
Here are some fun videos from the weekend. Carsen woke up and enjoyed snuggling with us early Sunday morning.

And Carsen was adorable in her Mommy's Lucky Charm shirt.
But she wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a photo, so Corey got a good laugh watching me chase her around the house. She's mischievous like a little leprechaun.

And Rosalyn insisted that we make a leprechaun trap. Having no idea what that meant, I turned to Facebook. My friend Tiffany posted a photo of one she and her kids made, and I jokingly said that she should bring us one since we were not prepared for such craftiness so last minute (it was almost bedtime). Rosalyn and I improvised some of our own, and then a few minutes later, Tiffany showed up at our door with this leprechaun trap. (I added the wire figurine after Rosalyn went to sleep).

It's a super sunny day!
Stealing the name of one of Rosalyn's favorite songs to describe our weekend. It was beautiful and sunny, but with pleasantly cool nights (perfect for an outdoor fire)!
I'm pretty confident this was the nicest weekend we'll have all year - sunny and warm but breezy and cool at night, plus the pollen and bugs aren't bad yet. We spent most of the weekend outside.
Rosalyn had her first soccer game of the season, so that was very exciting. Carsen loved running around the fields too, and I'm so glad we're playing at a different place with year with actual dirt and grass instead of astroturf.
We took a nice long walk to the park, planted some things in the garden, started seeds that will grow inside until the soil is warm enough to plant outside, did some crafts for the garden (photos of that soon), grilled out and ate dinner outside, had a fire in the chimnea, and Corey took the girls for a walk in the creek in our back yard to collect a few rocks for Rosalyn's rock tumbler.
Rosalyn is so grown up and can paint pots and plant seeds all by herself (with just a tiny bit of touching up from mom).
Carsen is very good at getting dirty and not shy about it a bit. She loves to get a fistful of dirt and move it from one pot or garden bed to another. (She also likes to move the dog food around, one little fistful at a time).
As when Rosalyn was this age, I expect that we'll have a lot of random things growing in odd places, like lettuce and tomatoes growing in the front walkway, and maybe a squash plant growing among the strawberries. Oops!

Last weekend
Here are some photos from last weekend while I was out of town at a conference. Corey took the girls to aunt Megan's house to help with a few projects, and Rosalyn wanted to be daddy's helper. And she got her nails painted by Megan. ;)
Then they went to a birthday party. Rosalyn was riding in a car with her friend Eli, and they decided they were married, so he gave her a hug (though it kind of looks like he's strangling her to me).

This weekend we just did some things around the house on Saturday, then the girls and I went to Macon to visit Granny today. We had a nice day with warm weather, so we got to take Granny on a walk outside with my aunt Roxanne and her dogs.
