Daddy's princess

On Sunday, Corey took Rosi to see the new Cinderella movie. She said there were a few scary and sad parts, but overall she loved it. I think she especially liked being daddy's princess.

Mysterious illnesses

In the past few weeks, there have been two times that we've had to pick Rosi up early because her tummy hurt. There has been a tummy bug going around school for over a month now. So far, we've been lucky not to catch it, but each time we get a call to pick Rosi up, we asse that's what's happening, but both times she been miraculously better.

We are thankful that she isn't actually sick, but since we know how much she likes school, we've been wondering what's going on.

 Two weeks ago, Corey picked her up and took her to a local park to explore.

Last Tuesday, I got the call and picked her up. When I arrived, she was feeling better. It happened to be St. Patty's Day... And a classmates birthday, so I put the puzzle pieces together and realized that she didn't feel well because she was loaded up on junk at school. So next time I get a call about a certain Kindergartener's tummy hurting, I'm going to ask whether they had cupcakes during lunch for a classmates's birthday or any other celebration before I fly over there to pick her up. 

Little helper

Carsen insisted on helping me bring the bins back from the end of the driveway after the trash and recycling were picked up. She's such a good helper.

Saturday morning down time

The girls have been extra sweet to each other this week. I think everyone is enjoying the weather and what it does for our moods!

Leprechauns

I have the cutest leprechauns I've ever seen.

And the big one made a trap to catch a real leprechaun. There's a twix bar and some chocolate chips inside.

And then I finally got her to hold still for a moment so I could get both of them together. (Rosi had already left for school with Corey).

And then Carsen attacked Teagan with Elmo... I mean, Carsen tried to "share" Elmo with Teagan.

Missing out

I hate that I wasn't around for the big moment, but Teagan rolled all the way over today at daycare. Her teacher took photos and sent them to me.

She's been rolling partway and getting stuck, which made her mad. Today she made it all the way over and napped like that.

Big reader

Rosi is reading lots of books to us. Part of her weekly homework is to write down the names of books that she reads to her parents. Last night when she wrote down the books she had just read, she insisted on getting her "reading glasses" that we got for her 100th day of school old lady costume.

I hope it's a phase!

If I didn't think it would be inappropriate to share online, you would all be laughing right now at a photo of Carsen trying to climb naked into our washing machine because I put her wash cloth in there, and she was NOT DONE WITH HER BATH!

What a fireball!

Carsen was a complete mess tonight, and she fell asleep early on her own after the meltdown (which I mostly ignored aside from ensuring that she didn't fall head first into the washing machine). After sleeping for 20 minutes, she got up in a perfectly happy mood and joined me, Teagan and Rosi on the couch to read some if the Berenstain Bear books that her older sister wisely selected. :)

Teagan and I took an postpartum yoga class, and this is a photo of all the babies on the last day. She at ~7 o'clock in pink pants in the first photo, and 5 o'clock in the second photo.

Taffy

As if losing Jezebel wasn't enough, we have the doubly sad news that Taffy was hit by a car this weekend and died by the time we got to the animal hospital.

I'm so sad we didn't get to say a proper goodbye, and Rosi also seems to be taking it hard too.

Even though we didn't coddle them so much after we had kids and even considered finding them new homes, we miss them both so much. The house is way too quiet.

I took Taffy with us for a play date at Rosi's friend's house because we were going to stop and get her nails clipped on the way home. We let her play with their new puppy while we were all outside, and then of course I noticed she was suddenly in the neighbor's yard. By the time I got out of the fence to collect her, she had been hit. I think she died instantly, but it was hard to tell, so a neighbor drove me and Taffy to a nearby animal hospital, but they confirmed she was dead when we got there. Rosi was still playing in the yard and didn't know about it until we told her later at home. She is sad that she didn't get to say goodbye, but I'm glad she didn't have to see it happen.

At least she ended her life doing her favorite activity - running wild and free.

A beautiful day in the neighborhood

Today felt like spring, and we spent most of it outside. After several weeks of cold and rainy weather, we were so excited to have a sunny and warm day. The older girls played in the yard, Teagan napped in the shade, I cleaned up the garden beds in the front yard, and Corey framed out the supports for our new walkway in front of the house. It was a really wonderful, beautiful day!

Just roll with it

Teagan has been great at "rolling" with whatever's happening in the family, and now she's rolling over. She can get herself flipped all the way over, but she can't get her arm wiggled out from underneath, which makes her veryad!

My eyes are dilated, so sorry for any typos. Hope this makes sense... :)

YMCA

Jezebel

The girls and I visited Macon over the weekend while Corey stayed home to take care of the sad necessity of putting Jezebel down.

Jezebel has recently snapped at several people including Carsen, and now Carsen is terrified of her. We weren't able to find her a new home, and pet adoption places wouldn't take her, but we felt like it wasn't safe to keep her in a home full of kids. Corey gave her a nice last meal, a bath and treats before taking her to the vet on Saturday. She was so sweet, and in spite of the challenges we had recently, I'm sad to see her go.

I hope she has played full of meat and cheese, and plenty of squirrels to chase now.
