Catch up

Here are a few random photos to catch up on.  We recently met up with Cousin Chantelle for dinner while she was in town.  Outside the restaurant, Rosi had fun climbing on the railings, and Carsen discovered she could swing from them.  Now she tries to swing every time she seems a bar or railing like this.

When Iffy visited last week, the girls discovered the joy of riding around the house on a blanket - possibly the exact same blanket used for us as kids!

Rosi got her new book bag (plus lunch box, school clothes and school supplies), and she's so ready for Kindergarten!  12 days!

Rosalyn meets Rosalynn (and her husband Jimmy)

Last weekend we went to South Georgia to visit Jimmy Carter's Sunday school class in Plains, GA and a few other areas of interest.

On Saturday we took the SAM Shortline train ride to Americus (Habitat for Humanity Global village), Plains and Archery (Jimmy Carter's boyhood home).

These photos are from our stop in Plains.

We stayed in a really nice historic hotel in Americus on Saturday night.  The girls enjoyed riding on the luggage cart.

This is during the introductions at the sunday school class - President Carter asks what state or country everyone comes from.  I was amazed at how far many people traveled - all over the US.

Before the Sunday school and service, the kids' Sunday school teacher brought Ms. Carter back to meet Rosalyn (that's the picture of just the two of them),

After the service, right before the picture of all of us was taken, she said to President Carter, "That's Rosalyn, she came to see ME."

After the Sunday school and lunch in Plains, we stopped at the Andersonville Prison Historic Site and POW Memorial.

Then we stopped at the Lane Orchard to get some pecans and peach ice cream.  I think this horse and the luggage carts were Carsen's highlights.

Our final stop was at the Cracker Barrel in Macon for dinner, checkers and rocking chairs.

Fernbank

We had an impromptu visit to Fernbank today due to rain and the need to keep the girls occupied while Corey is out of town.

I didn't take many photos, but we had fun.  This is a model of a blue whale's heart that the kids could climb through.

And Rosalyn enjoyed tossing a nickel into the pond outside where the outdoor dinosaur figures are.

Fashion show

I'm a little behind on blog updates, and I definitely need to upload our photos from the trip to Plains this weekend, but here's a quick video of Rosalyn's fashion show at daycare yesterday.

Talent show

Rosalyn and a classmate decided to act out a scene from Frozen at their talent show on Monday. I had no idea they had planned this, though it doesn't surprise me since these girls constantly act out entire scenes from the movie.

And I course it wouldn't be complete without a Frozen song as well.
