I don't have as many photos on my phone from our second (and last) day in Chattanooga, but it doesn't mean we has less fun!
A few weeks ago, I bought us matching PJs, so we enjoyed sleeping in those and sleeping in. We went to the lobby for breakfast, then took a dip in their indoor pool.
After the pool we got ready for the day, packed up and checked out. Then we walked to the north side of the river over the beautiful pedestrian bridge.
Coolidge Park is right along the river, and there's a beautiful old carousel in the park. We rode the carousel a few times, explored the park a bit, went into a local craft store, then picked up some lunch that we could take back to eat in the park.
Rosalyn met a nice little girl from Lexington KY and ran around with her for a while. When the other little girl had to leave, we rode the carousel one more time and then trekked back over the bridge to the south side of the river, an got ready to head home.
Chattanooga was a beautiful city for walking around and exploring, and I hope we can take Daddy and Carsen back soon. There are lots of other things to do that we didn't have time for. It was a fun trip, but it sure was good to get home and see Daddy and Carsen too!
Rosalyn had a fun birthday party on Saturday at the park. Daddy did a great job getting things set up in spite of drizzly weather and an unexpected location shift because we got there early, but someone else got there earlier. Aunt Megan made Rosalyn's cake, complete with a Pippi figure and her monkey, Mr. nilsson.
It was an overcast morning, but it didn't rain, and we had fun with the bounce house, "thing-finding", running around the park, etc.

This is how the day ended - an exhausted but happy 5 year old proving that no matter how big she gets, she's always "daddy's little girl".
Rosalyn and I had a great mother-daughter trip to Chattanooga last weekend. We took our time and had lots of fun. The aquarium, which was just a nice walk along the riverfront from our hotel, was wonderful... and we explored outside in the area around the aquarium- Chattanooga is such a nice city.

Rosalyn wouldn't go into this shark cage that was on display, but she wanted me to go in so she could take my picture. :)

On the walk back to our hotel, we stopped to play at a nice park right on the river. Rosalyn loved the climbing wall, giving us a great idea for a birthday gift...
Then we got ready for a nice dinner at the Chatanooga ChooChoo Station House restaurant. The restaurant is part of a hotel that I think is build in an old train station, and they have some rooms in train cars. All of the waiters and waitresses at the restaurant take turns singing throughout the meal. These first two photos show Rosalyn dressed up in our "dancing clothes" as she called them, looking at the river over the deck rail at our hotel.
We got to check out the hotel and shops for a few minutes before dinner, and Rosalyn was quite silly.
Our table was in the balcony, and Rosalyn sat like this watching the stage the whole time (there were breaks between performances so she did get to eat some).
Our waitress was very sweet and sang happy birthday to Ros.
And possibly the most memorable part of the night... Rosalyn was confused when she realized we weren't going to get onstage to dance. She had such nice manners and was so fun to be with, but I could tell she was a little disappointed. So I was talking to the waitress, and she said that Rosalyn could come up on stage with her for a song.
That was priceless. She wiggled a little more at times but I didn't catch the best parts on video.
Then of course there was a huge dessert that she didn't have any room to eat.
Another customer actually bought our dinner - quite a surprise and very sweet. I have no idea who it was, but they must have been impressed with what a sweet, mature and enthusiastic young lady Rosalyn was.
When we got back to our hotel, we enjoyed the fire on the hotel's deck overlooking the river for a little while before bed.
Rosalyn's first season of soccer is done - we had a team party after the game this Sunday, and Rosalyn got her trophy. She's very proud and wants to know when next season begins!
The Little Red Barn came to daycare on Friday. Carsen's teachers said she wasn't very interested, but one of the other moms sent me some photos of Rosalyn enjoying the animals.
