Nursery rhyme blues

I was only able to catch a small clip of it, but Rosalyn was really belting out the tunes, singing into the surround sound speaker like an old mic.

In a pickle

Carsen has gotten herself into some interesting situations now that she's so mobile.

Gone fishin

Rosalyn and Corey enjoyed fishing while we camped last weekend.  She seemed pretty bored at first, but after Corey caught a fish, she got pretty excited.  She liked playing with the bait.  Corey caught a catfish, and she caught a small blue gill.  We released the blue gill back in the water, but we brought the catfish home for dinner.
Later I asked Roz what was her favorite part of the trip (which also included a beach, s'mores, hiking/exploring, and making new friends), and she said fishing was her favorite.

Purple beauties

I had to snap some photos of the girls in somewhat matching purple dresses - they were so cute!  I had to take about 20 photos to get two good ones because Carsen won't stop wiggling.  I included a couple of blurry photos to get you the idea.

Mischief

Things are getting dangerous around our house - Carsen is into everything.  She has her own shelf of toys and books in the living room, and she pulls everything off about 100 times a day.
The other day she toppled over a bunch of toys in front of the shelf, and she couldn't reach it to pull all of the books off, so she started pulling them from the side and crawled all the way through the side of the shelf.  She was very pleased with her problem solving skills.

More Macon

Here are the last photos and video from Macon... Carsen and Iffy being silly in the rocking chair, and Rosalyn with Dolan in the Jam Room at the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

Swing time

Rosalyn and Iffy enjoyed a little swing time in Macon.

New moves every day!

I just realized that some of my posts from the past couple weeks didn't post properly, so sorry if there was a long gap and then lots posted at once.

On Saturday, when I went in to get Carsen, she was standing up in her crib and pulling on the bars. Then when we got to Macon, she tried to climb the stairs.  Life with this mischevious girl gets more interesting every day!

Ballerina goes camping (or spelunking)

Rosalyn loves to play dress up.  She put on this outfit recently - ballet clothes with a head lamp.

Carrot top

Carsen recently enjoyed chewing on a carrot like it was a toy.  Her hair is filling in a lot - definitely red AND curly.  I love my mini-me!

Riverwalk

When Carsen and I went to pick Rosalyn up from Macon, we went on an adventure with Iffy, Cousin Amy and Dolan to the Riverwalk in Macon.  Rosalyn and Dolan had fun on their scooters.  Rosalyn got a bit frustrated when she couldn't keep up with Dolan, but she still had lots of fun.

Fun in Atlanta too

Well, more like Roswell.  Carsen and I went to the Roswell Lavender Festival with Aunt Megan.  After what was apparently a wild ride (notice Carsen's tight grip on her carseat), we had lunch at the Roswell Tea House, then down the street to the festival.

We all enjoyed tasting some lavender ice cream.  I bought a recipe book for all things lavender, and we both bought some lavender plants for our gardens.  We came close to inciting a riot among other participants when asking which variety of lavender was best for culinary uses.  Apparently, this is a very divisive issue among the lavenderaphile elite. :)

She made some funny faces while eating the ice cream, but she shrieked for more.

Stages

We have entered the pulling-everything-off-the-shelf-is-my-favorite-game stage.

And Rosalyn's in a different version of that: the let's-pull-random-fun-things-out -of-my-closet-and-call-it-getting-dressed stage. :)

Raspberries!

We're loving the raspberries right now!  Side note, we have lots of black raspberries.  We've planted both red raspberries and black raspberries, but for some reason the black raspberries seem  to thrive here.  Also, it's easier to tell when they're ripe, so no complaints from me..
We've gotten about one standard size container worth of raspberries every day this week.  I should be weighing them and calculating the value based on current price at the grocery store for organic raspberries to demonstrate to Corey how all of my fruit trees and berries are a capital investment.
And we definitely look forward to harvesting our first pears this year.  One tree has approximately 35 young pears.

Sideways

In a few days, I'm pretty sure Carsen won't fit into her pack and play in the sideways position she seems to love.  These girls are growing up too fast!

Macon silliness

Rosalyn is in Macon for a few days.  My mom recently helped the family of an old neighbor who passed away clean out her house, and there are lots of clothes and other items being sorted in my mom's carport.  Rosalyn and my cousin's daughter Dolan had fun last night "helping".

More fun in Macon

Rosalyn and Dolan have more fun in "Iffy's thrift store" - playing drees up, then some pool time!

Quiet

It's pretty quiet around here right now, with Rosalyn in Macon and Carsen napping.  Carsen is so busy these days that I especially love when she falls asleep while nursing because it's about the only time I really get to snuggle her.

Quiet time is good, but we sure do miss our Rosi!  Carsen's been looking for her. :)
